Iligan’s AGAK PAMILYA Project Earns National Recognition in Policing Awards

Iligan Achieves National Recognition for Outstanding Community Policing

The Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) has secured a Top 5 Major Winner spot in the Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) System national awards, distinguishing Iligan among 35 LGUs nationwide. This recognition highlights Iligan’s strong partnership between the local government, police force, and community organizations in promoting peace, order, and citizen engagement.

The award-winning initiative, “AGAK PAMILYA Project” (Amuma, Gabay, Alagad, ug Kalooy), centers on values formation, trust-building, and shared responsibility among families in vulnerable barangays. The project’s success showcases the city’s proactive approach to strengthening family and community ties as key foundations for crime prevention.

Iligan’s Leadership and Collaboration Drive Public Safety

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) underscored the crucial role of local governments in enhancing public safety through collaborative programs like CSOP. Under the leadership of Mayor Freddie Siao, Iligan City continues to support and empower its police force, fostering partnerships with civil society organizations (CSOs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and barangay beneficiaries.

“This recognition is a testament to the strong cooperation between the LGU, PNP Iligan, and our communities,” said DTI-Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Jane Marie Tabucan, commending Iligan’s collective efforts to build a safer environment for all Iliganons.

The award also reinforces Iligan’s distinction as having one of the best-performing police forces in Region 10, aligned with its consistent ranking as the safest city in Northern Mindanao.

Celebrate Iligan’s Commitment to Safety and Progress

The recognition of PNP Iligan’s AGAK PAMILYA Project marks another proud moment for the city—proving that with unity, compassion, and leadership, Iligan continues to set the standard for community-oriented governance. Let’s keep supporting programs that strengthen families, foster trust, and ensure lasting peace in Iligan.
