Iligan Joins Nationwide Learning Effort on Sustainable Forest Management
The Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMPJ), in partnership with Rights of Nature PH and SUS-AG FRCM, will host a virtual learning session titled “Forest Management Through Community-Based Forest Management and Sustainable Forest Land Management” on October 23, 2025.
The discussion will feature representatives from the DENR – Forest Management Bureau (FMB), who will present insights on the accomplishments, challenges, and impacts of the CBFM program since its introduction in 1995. They will also discuss the opportunities and hurdles of implementing the newer SFLM framework in local and regional contexts.
This online event serves as a platform for environmental advocates, policymakers, and community leaders, including participants from Iligan City, to learn how these forest management tools can support sustainable development and ecological balance.
