The current Iligan City Council (Sangguniang Panlungsod) is serving the 2025–2028 term, having been elected on May 12, 2025, and officially proclaimed on May 13, 2025, by the COMELEC Board of Canvassers. Twelve councilors were proclaimed, with nine from the Asenso Iliganon Party (AIP/Nacionalista) and three from the United Iligan Party (UIP/PMP). 1. Nhicolle B. Capangpangan

Party: PMP (United Iligan Party) | Votes: 73,120 (Top vote-getter) Status: Re-elected (2nd term)

A native of Zone 21, Abuno, Iligan City, Capangpangan holds a degree in Secondary Education major in Biology from MSU-IIT and a Master’s in Public Service Management from Capitol University. She is a Licensed Professional Teacher and served as SK Federated President from 2018 to 2022 before winning her first council term in 2022. 2. Thomas Derrick P. Siao

Party: Nacionalista (Asenso Iliganon Party) | Votes: 68,002 Status: First-term (newly elected 2025)

Son of re-elected Mayor Frederick “Freddie” Siao, Derrick ran alongside his father as part of the Asenso Iligan Party slate. He was among the first-time winners under the Siao slate in 2025. 3. Providencio “Bong” Abragan Jr.

Abragan is a lawyer and one of Iligan’s most consistent elected officials. He served as councilor under Nacionalista from 2019 to 2022 and was re-elected in 2022. He first won in the 2016 elections where he ran for vice mayor under Liberal Party before shifting to the councilor race. His 2025 win marks at least his third consecutive council term. 4. Bernard “Tete” Y. Pacaña

5. Michelle E. Sweet
