Iligan City to Join 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
Iligan City, Philippines — September 11, 2025 — The Iligan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ICDRRMO), in coordination with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), will conduct the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
The drill will commence with the sounding of sirens to signal the start of earthquake response exercises. Residents, schools, offices, and establishments are strongly encouraged to actively participate, practicing the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and following safety protocols.
This initiative forms part of the government’s continuing effort to strengthen disaster preparedness and community resilience in the face of natural hazards. The NSED aims to instill readiness, reduce risks, and save lives by ensuring that individuals and institutions know how to respond effectively during an earthquake.
