Busan International Environmental Art Festival 2025 Opens with Global Artist Showcase
The 22nd Busan International Environmental Art Festival (BIEAF 2025) has officially opened in Busan, South Korea, under the theme “Verlust der Mitte – Art in Crisis.” This year’s festival highlights the role of art in confronting global challenges and invites audiences to reflect on the environment, society, and humanity’s shared future.
From a public call that drew 756 submissions worldwide, 641 artists from 80 countries were selected after careful review of their works and artistic philosophies. These participants will exhibit their creativity across 26 online galleries, accessible through the BIEAF Online Art Room from September 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026.

Colombian artists also gained recognition at BIEAF 2025, with a strong representation that highlighted the vivid colors and unique creativity of their homeland. Organizers, led by Director Yousang Lee and supported by artistic leaders like Elsa Victorios, emphasized the festival’s role in expanding cultural exchange and showcasing global artistry on an international stage.
