Iligan and Northern Mindanao Celebrate AI.Ideas 2025 Launch in Cagayan de Oro
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 10 proudly opened AI.Ideas for Impact 2025: AI for Developing Ethical and Applicable Solutions in Cagayan de Oro City, gathering innovators, educators, and students from across Northern Mindanao to highlight the future of artificial intelligence in shaping inclusive communities.
Day 1 featured the inspiring welcome message of Regional Director Sittie Rahma V. Alawi, who underscored the economic and social promise of AI: “We recognize AI’s power not only to boost our economy—projected to increase the nation’s GDP by 12% by 2030—but also to create ethical, meaningful, and life-changing solutions that uplift communities.”
Adding to this strong opening, City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, on behalf of Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, delivered a message of support, emphasizing the city’s commitment to technology-driven progress.
