𝗗𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘇 of Iligan City will be delivering the Keynote Speech for this year’s Mindanao Art Gala!
Recipient of the Gador and the Gawad Para sa Sining Awards of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Dr Fernandez is one of Asia’s leading intellectuals and cultural theorists.
He was named Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas by the Union ng mga Manunulat ng Pilipinas (UMPIL) in 2014, and has won the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Drama among other literary and theatrical awards.
He is best known as the founding director of the internationally acclaimed theatre group Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG), and for helping establish the Cultural Studies Program of the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).
Dr Fernandez is currently in active collaboration with the local leadership of Iligan City, which is bidding to become a UNESCO Creative City
