Iligan Strengthens Tourism Leadership with New Council Officers
The Tourism Council of Iligan City (TCIC) convened a successful General Assembly on October 25, 2025, at New Foodega Park, bringing together a dynamic mix of stakeholders from across the tourism industry. The event celebrated collaboration between the Department of Tourism Region X, partner local government offices, and representatives from the private sector, including accommodations, restaurants, tour operators, transportation providers, and academic institutions.
The assembly was highlighted by the election of the new set of TCIC officers representing the private sector, reaffirming Iligan’s strong partnership between government and business in promoting tourism growth.

- President: Ms. Reggie Punongbayan (Bayan Travel & Tours)
- Vice President: Ms. Jana Jean Dacobor (Lakbay Diyalogo Travel Services & Consultancy)
- Secretary: Mr. Angelo Dajan (IHARRA President)
- Treasurer: Ms. Sittie Aliah Lucman (TESDA – RTC)
- Public Information Officer: Ms. Elsa Mercado (PREAM’s Homestay & Function Rooms)

Representatives from DOT Region X shared insights on the importance of a functional tourism council and DOT accreditation. The program also featured Ms. Mitzie Murphy, MICE Tourism Consultant, who delivered opening remarks, and Mr. Prince Salazar, outgoing TCIC Secretary, who presented the council’s activity report including the benchmarking visit to Cebu’s Sinulog Festival.
The event concluded with remarks from Mr. Paul Lagura of the Center for Digital Iligan Innovation and Sustainability, emphasizing the promising role of MICE tourism in Iligan’s development and inviting stakeholders to the first-ever MICE Forum on October 28, 2025, at St. Michael’s College.
