Iligan’s Mental Health Advocacy Shines in Spoken Poetry Competition 2025
The Department of Health – Region X, in partnership with the City Government of Iligan, City Health Office, Gender and Development Office, Motivation Philippines, and Robinsons Iligan, proudly presents the Spoken Poetry on Mental Health Awareness Competition on October 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Robinsons Iligan Atrium.
This year’s balak contest highlights the power of poetry as a tool for advocacy, empathy, and healing—encouraging Iliganons to speak openly about mental health, promote self-care, and support one another in overcoming struggles.
Iligan Event Highlights: Art, Awareness, and Advocacy
- Open to all Iliganons – a celebration of local voices and creativity.
- Theme: Promoting mental health awareness, breaking stigma, and inspiring compassion through poetry.
- Prizes:
- 1st Place – ₱6,500 + Certificate
- 2nd Place – ₱5,500 + Certificate
- 3rd Place – ₱4,500 + Certificate
- 3 Consolation Prizes – ₱2,000 each + Certificate
- Judging Criteria:
- Relevance – 40%
- Overall Performance – 25%
- Originality & Creativity – 25%
- Audience Response – 10%
